Cryogenic Service’ refers to service condition where temperatures are significantly below normal atmosfheric temperatures. Definitions vary, but often any temperature below -50°F/ -45°C is considered cryogenic.The bonnet of gate and globe valves is of the extended type with sufficient length and a vapour space between body and stuffing box in order to maintain the gland packing sufficiently near ambient temperature to prevent icing of the top works and keep the packing soft and pliable for optimum sealing characteristics.
